Born in May 1982 in Tehran, Masoumeh Yari is a painter and sculptor whose practice bridges philosophy and visual art. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Philosophy from the Central Tehran Branch of Azad University, where her doctoral dissertation explored a political reading of modern Iranian painting.
Since 2011, she has honed her artistic skills under the mentorship of distinguished masters including Nosratollah Moslemian, Ra’na Farnoud, Hamid Hadi Nejad, Niloofar Ghaderi Nejad, Dr. Samii Azar, and Aydin Aghdashloo.
Yari’s first solo exhibition was held in 2020 at Shamideh Gallery. Her work has since been featured in numerous group exhibitions across prominent galleries such as Negar, Idea, Artists’ House, and Ebtekar. Her most recent solo exhibition at Bam Gallery showcased her paper sculptures, reflecting a poetic exploration of form, fragility, and transformation.
